Cares Gorge

One of the most popular and beautiful routes in northern Spain. It is advisable to go prepared with good footwear, a large bottle of water, sun protection and be aware of the small risk of rock fall. The route starts in the village of Poncebos (6km). It is 12km long, of which the first 3km are uphill and the rest being effectively flat. For the return, you either have come back via the same route, or contract one of various companies offering either 4X4 routes or normal road routes back. (Please ask in reception)

Bulnes route

A route that runs along the Tejo channel and arrives to the hamlet of Bulnes. A duration of 1:15. There are bars and restaurants in the village. You can also ascend & descend on underground funicular railway.

Covadonga Lakes

A beautiful place and very busy. Access to the lakes from July to Sept is closed to private cars and you will need to use the public transport available from nearby Covadonga.

From the lakes you can do different routes of greater or lesser degree of difficulty.

Canoeing

Descent in canoe of 1 or 2 people by the river Sella with two options, 10 km or 15 km of descent. Between 3 and 4 hours.

Horse riding

It is a beautiful route on horseback of about two hours with departure from Unquera.

Biking

Canyoning

A sport that is increasingly in demand due to the fun and beautiful nature of its performance, you can enjoy spectacular views from within a river. More or less about 2 hours.

Climbing

Basic climbing with a specialized guide, in different places around Cabrales valley, one of the popular areas in this sport.

Surf

If you want to enjoy the beach you can rent surfboards or be taught a monitor on the beach of San Antolin, near Llanes.

Rafting

An exciting activity. But it can only be done in a very short period of the year, due to the water flow during the spring thaw.

Trekking

You can ask us about the trekking in the countless routes that exist throughout the area. We will advise you by degree of difficulty, levels, distances and times.

Via ferrata

A Via ferrata is a vertical rockface, equipped with various materials such as ladders, handrails, chains, suspension bridges and zipwires, with which it is possible to safely climb routes that would otherwise be only scalable by proficient rock climbers. More or less a duraccion between two and three hours, there are 4 vias ferratas in the Picos of Europe.

Ruta del Quesu and Cider

These two brothers from Asiego de Cabrales (Manolo and Javier) teach us how to make cabrales cheese and cider, as well as the distribution of the Asturian village and life in the rural world. The route ends with a traditional espicha as a meal or dinner.

Bee trail

Short stroll to a bee hive while we learn about the geology of peaks, the flora so diverse in the area and the social life of the bees. The guided tour will be in a beekeeper’s suit in the last part of the route where a hive will be opened. Suits are also available for children.
